Hannah’s watercolour works encapsulate a synergy of colour, rhythm and movement. All these works are created to music, and this is reflected in their titles. She describes her painting process as, “dancing on paper”. She draws upon her extensive dance experience, and her lifelong exposure to the visual arts, which is apparent in her work.
‘All art constantly aspires towards the condition of music” – Walter Pater
‘Colour is the keyboard, the eyes are the harmonies, the soul is the piano with many strings. The artist is the hand that plays, touching one key or another, to cause vibrations in the soul.’ – Wassily Kandinsky
